Memo
from the Prez
A few
days after our 2nd annual New England Consultants Conference back
in March, I received this voice mail message from new member Curtis
Bingham:
"After
having attended a few IMC meetings, I find that IMC is a lot more
friendly and collegiate and very considerate of each individual
member than many other such groups are. IMC seems to have a much
more friendly atmosphere than many groups, and though Im not
quite sure why that is, I really enjoy IMC and look forward to participating
more in it."
These
comments were significant since one of our principal goals at IMCNE
has been to shake off a long-held image of stuffiness, and foster
instead an atmosphere of welcome and useful collegiality. Apparently,
we are making some progress.
At
the ConCon I also explained that IMCNE hopes to expand its number
of "PEGs," or "Professional
Emphasis Groups." Currently we have a very strong Healthcare
PEG in motion, under the direction of Alan Kaul and Dr. Bill Katz
CMC. But wed like to add more and for that we need input,
suggestions, direct involvement.
Curtis
again stood up and offered to be the point man for a PEG focusing
on customer relationships and product marketing issues. By the end
of the day, hed been handed business cards from folks who
wanted to take him up on his offer. (Note: If youd like to
learn more about this new "Customer Relations PEG" too,
Curtis or call him at (978) 952-0046.)
The
"collegiality" component of IMCNE is now sparkling, thanks
principally to activists like Curtis whose energy has begun polishing
it into a resource to behold. With warmer weather finally about
to happen, ushering in some fresh spring air makes perfect sense.
Ken
Lizotte, CMC
President
