Letter from the President
Preview of coming attractions
Our committee leaders have been busy at IMCNE developing an exciting calendar of events for the coming year. There will be much more information to come but I wanted to give you a sneak preview to whet your appetite!
Over the years, we have seen that many of our most popular programs involve our peers in the consulting world. We all want to learn from consultants who have excelled in one way or another. It is also clear that our members benefit greatly from peer-to-peer discussions and coaching about challenges that we each face. What does that mean for our programming?
Expect to see a whole lot of new, more interactive programs so that we get to know each other better and learn from each other every time we get together. The types of programs that we hold will include:
- Dinner Meetings featuring a panel of prominent consultants discussing their challenges and accomplishments. These programs will be held on from 5-9 PM on 9/14, 12/7, 3/15 and 6/14 in Waltham at the Hilton Garden Inn.
- Consultant Roundtables featuring IMCNE members, IMCNE CMC’s and selected external experts. These will be informal discussions about the challenges we face as consultants in both the practice of consulting (how to be a better consultant) and the business of consulting (how to make more money). These events will be held throughout the year at restaurants and coffee shops around New England.
- CMC Presentations featuring Certified Management Consultants and their corporate clients. Presentations will focus on a current challenge or a unique case study. These events will be open to CMC and CMC-pending members only and will generally be held at the client’s site.
A new change this year is that all but our dinner panels will be run through a proposal process.
We view this as a year of exploration—let’s try new things in our quest to build the maximum value for our members. There will be much more information to come on these events as well as other initiatives. In the meantime, if you have any questions or you would like to help out, please call or email.
