Accountability & Passion
Do you have a walk-away point? Should you?

with Bill Jensen, Organizational Consultant and Author

Even in a troubled economy, there are consulting gigs we know we have to walk away from... for example, when there are clear breaches of ethics or blatant financial mismanagement. But there are gray areas too. What if your client simply will not use your counsel properly? Or, what if you come to realize you’re taking the job primarily for the money, and you’ll be bored or unhappy with the assignment? What then — do you walk away?

These are really hard questions. There are no right answers — only your answers.

In this presentation, noted author and consultant Bill Jensen will lead a discussion that will provoke new ways of thinking about these issues. And, since Bill’s own consulting practice is employee-centric, regardless of who’s paying the bills, he’ll share the tough choices he’s made as a passionate advocate for all employees.

Bill JensenBill Jensen has spent the past decade studying how over 1000 companies design work. (In case you’re interested, much of what he found horrifies him.) He is an information architect with 25 years of experience in communication and change consulting.

Bill’s first book, Simplicity, has been hailed as a “breakthrough in the design of communication and understanding,” and was the No. 5 Leadership/Management book on Amazon in 2000. Herman Miller CEO Mike Volkema has described Bill’s follow-up book, Work 2.0, as “the roadmap for effective leadership in the 21st century.” Bill is currently writing Simplicity Survival Kit, and Work Diaries.

Bill holds degrees in Communication Design and Organizational Development. He is CEO of The Jensen Group, whose mission is “to make it easier to get stuff done.” Among The Jensen Group’s clients are Bank of America, Eli Lilly, Merck, Oracle, Walt Disney World, Duracell, Pfizer, Accenture Consulting, and the Swedish Post Office.
